Saksham Hospital, established in 1999, has been a beacon of healthcare excellence in Saharanpur and surrounding regions. With over 25 years of dedicated service, we have grown from a modest healthcare facility to a state-of-the-art hospital offering comprehensive medical services.

Our journey began with a simple mission: to provide quality healthcare accessible to all. Today, we stand proud with over 25,000 successful surgeries and more than 5 lakh satisfied patients, a testament to our commitment to excellence in healthcare.

Dr. Poonam Makhija currently leads a dedicated team of 13 doctors and 90 support staff who remain committed to the founding mission: providing high-quality, affordable emergency care to the people of Saharanpur and surrounding regions. She is supported by her son, Saksham Makhija, who brings his business acumen as an MBA from Indian School of Business (ISB) and technical expertise as an Integrated M.Tech graduate from IIT Delhi.

Founded by Dr. Tilak Raj Makhija & Dr. Poonam Makhija

Saksham Hospital was co-founded by Dr. Tilak Raj Makhija, a renowned ENT surgeon, and Dr. Poonam Makhija, a respected Gynaecologist, from Saharanpur, a city located about 200 kilometres from Delhi. After establishing their reputation through a decade of dedicated practice at a modest 200 sq ft clinic, the husband-wife team envisioned something greater for their community.

Their vision for Saksham Hospital was born from personal tragedy. After losing Dr. Tilak Raj's father to a heart attack due to the lack of emergency medical facilities in the region, they committed themselves to filling this critical healthcare gap. This led to the establishment of a comprehensive multi-specialty 60-bed hospital in 1999, designed specifically to provide timely emergency care along with specialized treatments.

Though Dr. Tilak Raj eventually lost his battle with cancer, the legacy of compassion and medical excellence that both founders established continues. The hospital remains committed to its founding mission: providing high-quality, affordable emergency care to the people of Saharanpur and surrounding regions.
